FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, February 22, 2006 - Grant Smith, a 47-year old offender escaped from minimum security Pittsburgh Institution, during the evening of February 21. 2006. Mr. Smith was not present for the institutional 10:30 count.

Mr. Smith is serving a sentence of 2 years 3 months for offences under the Highway Traffic Act, possession of break-in instruments, break-in enter and theft.

Mr. Smith's sentence commenced on May 19th, 2005 and his warrant expiry date is the 18th of August 2007 with a statutory release date of 18th November 2006.

Police were immediately notified of the escape. Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Smith is encouraged to contact the local police.

CSC will work closely with the police to ensure his earliest apprehension.
