FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM PITTSBURGH INSTITUTION

KINGSTON, ON, June 29, 2006 - On June 28, 2006, an inmate escaped from the minimum-security Pittsburgh Institution in Greater Kingston, Ontario. Jamie Marshall was last seen talking with staff at approximately 10:00 pm, but was not present during the 10:30 pm count.

Marshall, aged 34, is serving 2 years and 2 months for break and enter, theft under, possession of property obtained by crime and fraud over.

The police have been notified of the incident and the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is cooperating fully in their investigations.

CSC will conduct a review of all the circumstances surrounding this incident.
