FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GRAVENHURST, ON, August 30, 2006 - Federal offender James Taylor, who had escaped from minimum-security Beaver Creek Institution on the evening of August 3, 2006, was recaptured on August 29, 2006 without incident in Saint John, New Brunswick.

At the time of his escape, Taylor was serving a sentence of 28 years and one month for various robbery offences.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an internal investigation into this matter.
