FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, September 11, 2006 - On September 8, 2006 at the 21:00 count, an offender was found to be missing from minimum-security Frontenac Institution. An immediate search was conducted of the property and he was not located.

Missing is James Pigeau, who is serving a sentence of two years and three months for possession of property obtained by crime, operating a motor vehicle while disqualified, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and assault with a weapon. His sentence commenced May 12, 2005. His statutory release is November 11, 2006 and warrant expiry is August 11, 2007.

Police were immediately notified and his whereabouts remain unknown.

The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct a review of all circumstances surrounding this incident.

Anyone with information of the whereabouts of this person is asked to contact the local police.
