FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, October 27, 2006 - On Tuesday October 24, 2006, while conducting a routine patrol of the inmate exercise yard, staff seized a package, which was approximately 8" in circumference. The package contained several tables of Oxycontins, Oxycoets, 114 grams of marijuana, and 6 x 50 ml bottles of alcohol. The estimated institutional value is $6000. An institutional investigation is ongoing.

CSC has a zero tolerance policy on drugs in our institutions as the safety and security of our institutions is of paramount importance. It is through the professionalism of staff and their diligence in searching that the prevention of the entry of drugs into our institutions is possible.
