FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE AND RECAPTURE FROM FRONTENAC INSTITUTION

KINGSTON, ON, February 5, 2007 - On February 3, 2007 at the 16:30 count an inmate was found to be missing. An immediate search was conducted of the property and he was not located. Police were immediately notified.

Missing was Anthony Frizzell, he is serving a sentence of 4 years and 6 months for theft under, break & enter, disguise with intent, failure to comply and armed robbery. His sentence commenced March 14, 2003. His statutory release is March 16, 2007 and warrant expiry is September 13, 2007.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on February 4, 2007 the inmate turned himself in at Frontenac Institution.

The inmate was transferred to higher security.

Frontenac Institution is a minimum-security institution that can accommodate 193 inmates. It is located behind Collins Bay Institution on Bath Road.

Minimum security inmates are those who have been assessed as presenting a low escape risk, low risk to the public in the event of escape and who display progress in dealing with identified problem areas identified though their correctional plan participation.

This is the first escape from Frontenac this year. Last year we had two escapes.

Correctional Service Canada will be conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding this escape.
