FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BATH, ON, April 12, 2007 - A routine search of a vehicle entering Millhaven Institution this morning resulted in the seizure of a small amount of marijuana. The vehicle belonged to an outside company hired by the institution to perform routine maintenance. As per policy, all vehicles entering the institution are searched prior to gaining entrance to the property. The drugs were seized and the person and vehicle were refused entry to the institution. The Police were contacted and attended the institution. They are currently investigating.
The Correctional Service of Canada has a zero tolerance policy on drugs in our facilities. Through the diligence of our staff the entry of these drugs into our institution has been prevented.
