FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, April 26, 2007 - On April 26, 2007 at approximately 11:00 a.m. inmate Brent Dowdall was capture by New York State police. He is currently in custody in New York State. It is expected that Dowdall will be transferred back to federal custody in Canada.

Brent Dowdall escaped from Frontenac Institution on April 23, 2007. He was serving a life sentence for second degree murder.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding this escape.
