FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEATH AT KINGSTON PENITENTIARY
Kingston, ON, September 13, 2007 - On September 13, 2007, inmate Frank Malott died of natural causes. The inmate had been originally housed at Joyceville Institution but had been in the palliative care unit at the Regional Hospital within Kingston Penitentiary when he passed away.
At the time of his death, Frank Malott was serving a 3-year sentence for break, enter and commit.
Next of kin have been notified and funeral arrangements are underway.
Correctional Service Canada will be conducting an internal investigation and a coroner's inquest will be convened at a later date.
