Kingston, ON, September 13, 2007 - On Monday September 10, 2007 at approximately 10:55pm, correctional staff conducted a non-routine search of a cell and discovered 169.5 grams of marijuana concealed in the cell, with an institutional value of over $7,000. The inmate occupying the cell was placed in segregation. The Joint Forces Police / Corrections Investigation Unit - Penitentiary Squad are investigating and charges are expected to be laid.
Preventing drugs from entering our institutions is an ongoing challenge; however, it is the diligent work of staff that help us tackle this challenge.
