FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT FENBROOK INSTITUTION

GRAVENHURST, ON, October 23, 2007 - On October 20, 2007, offender Aime Bourgon, age 37, passed away in Kingston, Ontario. Due to serious health concerns Mr. Bourgon, a Fenbrook Institution inmate, had been receiving care at Kingston General Hospital.

Mr. Bourgon was sentenced to 2 years, 5 months for armed robbery and assault - use of force. Sentence commenced May 9, 2006.

Mr. Bourgon obtained full parole on Friday, October 19, 2007. Mr. Bourgon died while still in Kingston prior to placement in an air ambulance which was destined for a hospital in his home community.

Next of kin have been notified.

The cause of death is undetermined. No foul play is suspected. Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an internal investigation and a coroner's inquest will be convened at a later date.
