FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, November 2, 2007 - At approximately 00:45 hours on Friday, November 02, 2007, inmate Ronald Neely, age 66, passed away of natural causes. The inmate had been transported to Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, November 01, 2007 from the Kingston Penitentiary Hospital, while under the jurisdiction of Pittsburgh Institution.

Ronald Neely was serving a life sentence for first degree murder. His sentence commenced on May 3rd, 1978.

Next of kin have been notified and funeral arrangements are underway.

Correctional Services of Canada will be conducting an internal investigation and a coroner's inquest will be convened at a later date.
