FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, November 19, 2007 - On Monday November 19, 2007 at approximately 08:05 hours, two inmates were involved in a physical altercation. One inmate was subsequently transferred by ambulance to outside hospital for treatment of non life threatening stab wounds. The inmate has not returned to the institution. No other inmates or staff incurred injuries from this incident.

The institution is on a modified routine while searching continues. Both the Correctional Service of Canada and the Joint Forces Police / Corrections Investigation Unit - Penitentiary Squad will be reviewing the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Members of the public who plan to attend the institution for visits are asked to contact the institution prior to arriving for a visit.
