FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BATH, ON, February 25th, 2008 - On the morning of February 25th, 2008, an inmate at Millhaven Institution was found in medical distress. Life saving measures were initiated but were unsuccessful. The inmate was pronounced dead by the Institutional Doctor.

Next of kin have not been notified at this time.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been called in to investigate. In addition, Correctional Services Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
