FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bath, ON, February 27, 2008 - Millhaven Institution is continuing its current lockdown status as a result of an incident on the February 25.

On the evening of Monday February 25, 2008 information was received indicating the possibility of a weapon being located on one of the units.

As a result of this situation, decision was taken to maintain current lockdown in order to facilitate an expanded search of the facility while ensuring the continued safety and security of the public, staff and inmates.

The facility will reopen once institutional management determines that it is safe to do so.
