KINGSTON, (Ontario), January 27, 2009 - On Saturday January 24, 2009 the institutional drug dog detector team positively indicated on a visitor to Kingston Penitentiary. 12-100mg Morphine pills, 6-8 mg Dilaudid pills and approximately 10 grams of marijuana with an estimated institutional value of $2,100 were recovered from the visitor by staff.
Police were contacted and attended the institution. The visitor was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking.
Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) actively utilizes a number of tools in our efforts to control the flow of drugs into our institutions including the institutional drug dog team.
