FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH OF OFFENDER AT KINGSTON REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

KINGSTON, (Ontario), February 02, 2009 - On January 31, 2009 Maurice PHILION, an inmate residing at the Kingston Regional Treatment Centre died of natural causes while under care at Kingston General Hospital.

Mr. Philion was a 73 year old and was serving a 50 year sentence for Armed Robbery.

In addition, Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
