FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH BY NATURAL CAUSES, KINGSTON PENITENTIARY

Kingston, Ontario, At approximately 2:08 pm, on April 23rd, 2009, Gary Davies, passed away of apparent natural causes while in the Regional Hospital within Kingston Penitentiary.

Mr. Davies was serving a life sentence for murder. The next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner are called in to investigate. In addition, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
