FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Kingston, ON) – On June 18, 2009 at approximately 9:35pm, members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) and the Risk Offender Enforcement (ROE) units arrested 42-year-old Andrew WOOD in a vehicle on Bedford Road in South Frontenac Township.
Wood left Frontenac Institution on June 13, 2009. He was serving a sentence for 2nd degree murder which commenced March 19, 1990.
The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old female from Kingston, was arrested and has been held in custody. She faces charges of breach of trust, obstruct police, accessory after the fact of escape lawful custody and party to the offence of escape lawful custody, contrary to the Criminal Code.
Wood has been charged with escape lawful custody.
Both are appearing in Kingston Provincial court today.
