FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH OF INMATE AT WARKWORTH INSTITUTION

Cambellford, Ontario, July 23, 2009 – At approximately 1410 hours on July 22, 2009, Warkworth Institution inmate Craig Morton Kimberley was found unresponsive. CPR was conducted immediately however, was unsuccessful. Cause of death is unknown at this time.

Kimberley was serving an indeterminate sentence for First Degree Murder. He was sentenced on July 13, 1995.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner are called in to investigate. In addition, Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an internal investigation and a coroner's inquest will be convened at a later date.

Warkworth Institution is a medium-security institution which currently houses 564 male offenders.
