LOCKDOWN AT MILLHAVEN INSTITUTION

Bath, Ontario, July 28, 2009 - Millhaven Institution is currently on lockdown status following the discovery of a homemade weapon.

On Monday, July 27, 2009 a staff member discovered a weapon in one of the ranges of the Millhaven Assessment Unit. Visits for the entire institution have been cancelled until further notice.

A lockdown has been put in place to complete a search of the entire facility while ensuring the continued safety and security of the public, staff and inmates.

The facility will reopen once institutional management determines it is safe to do so.
