FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kingston, August 26, 2009- Pittsburgh Institution is returning to normal operations for the evening routine on Wednesday August 26, 2009 after a lockdown was implemented this morning at 7:30 am.
A search was completed and no unauthorized object was found. The Warden has determined that it is safe to return to normal operations.
The lockdown was initiated after an anonymous handwritten note was received indicating that an unauthorized object could be on the premises.
Visits are reinstated for this evening.
Pittsburgh Institution is a minimum-security federal penitentiary, housing approximately 230 male offenders.
