FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INMATE DEATH – FRONTENAC INSTITUTION

Kingston, Ontario, November 20, 2009 – On November 19, 2009, Wayne TSCHRITTER, an inmate residing at Frontenac Institution, died of natural causes while under care at the Kingston General Hospital.

Tschritter was a 54-year-old offender serving a two year sentence, beginning May 6, 2009 for convictions of Robbery and Utter Forged documents. Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner are notified. Correctional Service Canada will also review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
