FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INMATE DEATH, KINGSTON PENITENTIARY- REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

Kingston, Ontario, March 15, 2010 - At approximately 1315 hours on March 14, 2010, Ernest Pearch passed away from natural causes at the Regional Treatment Centre.

Ernest Pearch was an 86-year-old offender serving a life sentence as a dangerous sexual offender for indecent assault. His sentence began June 23, 1961. Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified.
