FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INMATE DEATH, KINGSTON PENITENTIARY- REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

Kingston, Ontario, March 24, 2010- At approximately 5:00 a.m. on March 24, 2010, John Brown passed away from natural causes at the Regional Treatment Centre.

John Brown was a 69-year-old offender serving a life sentence as a dangerous offender for various sexual offences. His sentence began April 21, 1997. Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified.
