FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH OF AN OFFENDER REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

Kingston, Ontario, July 12, 2010 – On July 9th, 2010, Robert SINNOTT, an inmate residing at Regional Treatment Centre, passed away of natural causes.

Mr. Robert SINNOTT was a 52 year old first time federal offender serving an indeterminate sentence for Second Degree Murder commencing April 15th 2004. Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been called to investigate. Correctional Service of Canada will also review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
