FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INMATE DEATH, BATH INSTITUTION

Kingston Ontario, August 17, 2010 - On August 15th, 2010 at approximately 1:00 pm, George McKay, an inmate residing at Bath Institution, died of natural causes.

Offender McKay was serving a sentence of seven years, four months for Sexual Assault with a Weapon, Sexual Assault (X4), and Assault (X2). His sentence began June 22nd, 2009 and his warrant expiry date is October 21, 2016.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. Correctional Service of Canada will also review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
