FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INMATE DEATH, BATH INSTITUTION

Bath Ontario, August 20, 2010 - On Thursday August 19, 2010 at approximately 7:45 pm, Bobby Billyard, an inmate from Bath Institution, died at the Kingston General Hospital from unknown health related causes. Correctional staff at the institution discovered the inmate had collapsed and immediately initiated First Aid and CPR until he was transported by ambulance to the hospital. No foul play is suspected.

Bobby Billyard was serving a life sentence for Non Capital Murder, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Unlawfully at Large. His sentence began February 17, 1966.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. Correctional Service of Canada will also review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
