FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Beaver Creek Institution - Offender Apprehended

Gravenhurst, Ontario, February 22, 2011 - On February 21, 2011, Correctional Service of Canada was contacted by the Toronto Police Service informing them that Offender Ashley CRAWFORD was apprehended at approximately 8:25 pm. The offender had failed to return to Beaver Creek Institution at the end of an unescorted temporary absence (UTA) into the community on February 18, 2011. He had been granted a UTA by the Parole Board of Canada to Peterborough, Ontario.

Crawford is serving Life Sentence for Murder which commenced May 25, 2001.

The Correctional Service of Canada continues to work with police agencies in a variety of ways, creating strong partnerships which help to make our communities safe.
