FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
END TO LOCKDOWN AND EXCEPTIONAL SEARCH - JOYCEVILLE INSTITUTION
KINGSTON, ONTARIO, April 5, 2011 –The lockdown at Joyceville Institution initiated on Monday, March 29, 2011 has concluded. The Institution has returned to normal operations.
During the search, staff seized a number of contraband items.
Visits have been re-instated effective Wednesday April 6, 2011.
The safety and security of the institution is our primary objective. This exceptional search was a proactive measure to maintain a safe environment within the institution.
