FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEATH AT MILLHAVEN INSTITUTION
Bath, ON, May 26th, 2011 – On Wednesday May 25th, 2011 at Millhaven Institution, inmate Vincente Orozco (DOB 1951-07-19) was found unresponsive in his cell. Life saving measures were initiated immediately, but were unsuccessful and the inmate was pronounced dead at approximately 14:50 hours by Paramedics at the site.
Mr. Orozco (59) was convicted of 2nd degree murder and his sentence commenced on May 2, 2011.
As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been called in to investigate. In addition, Correctional Services Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
