FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PEACEFUL INMATE PROTEST AT COLLINS BAY INSTITUTION ENDS

Kingston ON, July 5th, 2011 – Inmates at Collins Bay Institution ended their peaceful protest Thursday June 30th, 2011.  Inmates refused to participate in their correctional or work programs protesting against changes to institutional infrastructure including inmate accommodation.
 
As part of our commitment to responsible operational planning, CSC is taking steps to ensure we have the tools necessary to meet emerging accommodation requirements.

Collins Bay Institution continues to operate on a normal routine.
