FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCKDOWN AND EXCEPTIONAL SEARCH - JOYCEVILLE INSTITUTION

Kingston, Ontario, July 12, 2011 – On Monday, July 11, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Joyceville Institution was placed under lockdown status as a result of security information received.  An exceptional search was initiated and is ongoing.

All visits have been cancelled until further notice.

The facility will return to normal routine once the Warden determines that it is safe to do so.

CSC works to ensure the continued safety and security of the public, staff and inmates.
