FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
END TO LOCKDOWN AND EXCEPTIONAL SEARCH - JOYCEVILLE INSTITUTION
KINGSTON, ONTARIO, July 21, 2011 – The lockdown at Joyceville Institution initiated on Monday, July 11, 2011 has concluded. The institution has returned to normal operations.
During the search, staff seized a number of contraband items.
Visits to the Institution have been re-instated.
CSC works to ensure the continued safety and security of the public, staff and inmates. This exceptional search was a proactive measure to maintain a safe environment within the institution.
