Gravenhurst Ontario, August 24, 2011 – On Sunday August 21, 2011, Correctional Officers at Fenbrook Institution intercepted an inmate visitor attempting to bring drugs into the institution. The package is believed to have contained 42 grams of marijuana with an institutional value estimated at approximately $4200.00.
With the assistance of the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police Detachment, the visitor was arrested and charged with possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
CSC works closely with local police agencies and communities to prevent drugs from entering its institutions. CSC also works in partnership with the police to prosecute inmates and others who attempt to have contraband brought into correctional institutions.
