FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH BY NATURAL CAUSES AT ORILLIA SOLDIERS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Gravenhurst, Ontario, August 31, 2011- On August 30, 2011, Colin Thomas ROBINSON, a Beaver Creek offender who was receiving medical care in Orillia, Ontario, died of natural causes at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

ROBINSON, (67) was serving a sentence of eleven (11) years, for a variety of offences including Forcible Confinement, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Utter Threat to Cause Death and Indecent Assault.  His sentence began September 10, 2004. He was past all eligibility dates for Parole.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. The Correctional Service of Canada will also review the circumstances surrounding this incident.
