FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM BEAVER CREEK INSTITUTION DISCOVERED MISSING

Gravenhurst, Ontario, December 23, 2011 – On December 23, 2011, Mark David Maxwell Whyte was discovered missing during the Beaver Creek Institution 11:45 am count. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Ontario Provincial Police Bracebridge Detachment and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Mark David Maxwell Whyte, 37  years old,  is described as 182 cm (6’ 0”) tall and weighs 86 kg (190 lbs), with blue eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo of a skull and flames on his left forearm, a tiger on his upper left arm and a dagger and on his right forearm. He is currently serving a 5 year, 1 month  sentence for convictions of Break Enter and Commit (X19), Break Enter with Intent (X2) and Possession of Property by Crime Under.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mark David Maxwell Whyte  is asked to contact police.

CSC and Beaver Creek Institution will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with police agencies  to locate this offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmate’s apprehension.
