FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM FERNDALE INSTITUTION

MISSION, BC, February 6, 2004 - A federal offender escaped from Ferndale Institution last night. Russell Corbin was noticed missing during the midnight count February 6.

Mr. Corbin is a Caucasian male weighing 68 Kg (150 lbs.) and stands 177 cm (5' 10" inches) tall. He is bald with blue eyes and a fair complexion.

He is serving a two-year sentence for possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft, and break and enter. His sentenced commenced November 3, 2003.

His day parole and unescorted temporary absence date is May 5, 2004. His full parole eligibility date is July 3, 2004.

Ferndale Institution is a minimum-security institution located in Mission.
