FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM FERNDALE INSTITUTION

MISSION, B.C., May 6, 2004 - Federal offender Archie MacPherson escaped while on escorted temporary absence from Ferndale Institution during the evening of May 05. He was attending a meeting in Mission accompanied by a citizen escort.

Mr. MacPherson is a Caucasian male weighing 90 Kg (199 lbs.) and stands 175 cm (5' 9" inches) tall. He is balding with brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.

He is serving a six-year sentence for possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and break and enter. His sentenced commenced July 13, 2000.

He was eligible for unescorted temporary absence April 14, 2002 and day parole July 14, 2003. His full parole eligibility date was January 14, 2004.

Ferndale Institution is a minimum-security institution located in Mission.
