ABBOTSFORD, BC, January 14, 2005 - A Regional Treatment Centre inmate died of natural causes at an outside hospital in Abbotsford on January 14.
Norman Armstrong, age 69, was pronounced dead in a community hospital where he was being treated.
Mr. Armstrong was serving a life sentence for second degree murder. His sentence commenced October 1, 2001.
Next of kin have been notified.
The Pacific Institution and Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford. The facility includes a 19-bed medical hospital, 96-bed psychiatric hospital, 96-bed rehabilitation unit, 127-bed program unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
