FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MISSION, BC, August 26, 2005 - Federal offenders James Reid and Troy Hamilton were noticed missing during the midnight formal count at Ferndale Institution today.

Both inmates are considered a low risk to the community.

Mr. Reid is a 28-year-old Caucasian male weighing 77 Kg (169 lbs.) and standing 177 cm (5' 10") tall. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion.

He is serving a five-year sentence for robbery with threats of violence. His sentence commenced October 31, 2000.

Mr. Hamilton is a 35-year old Caucasian male weighing 88 Kg (194 lbs.) and standing 177 cm (5'10") tall. He has brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.

He is serving a two-year sentence for escape lawful custody, theft and cause bodily harm by criminal negligence. His sentence commenced November 26, 2004.

Ferndale Institution is a minimum-security institution located in Mission.
