FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AGASSIZ, BC, September 20, 2005 - The lockdown at Mountain Institution has ended. Mountain was locked down on September 16, following an assault upon an inmate, to facilitate a search of the cells, buildings and grounds of the institution.

Mountain Institution is a federal male medium-security institution located 120 kilometers east of Vancouver. The institution contains five living units, currently housing a total of 456 inmates.
