FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ABBOTSFORD, BC, December 10, 2005 - A Matsqui Institution inmate escaped from escort in Surrey BC on December 10, 2005. The offender was on a family contact escorted temporary absence and bolted from escort by two correctional officers from a private residence in Surrey.

Robert Achadina, age 22, is serving a four year sentence for break and enter and commit, and assault peace officer. His sentence commenced January 9, 2004.

Achadina is 180 cm (5 '11 ") in height, weighs 83 kg (183 lbs), has a fair complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, (institutional) green parka, and a blue ball cap.

Surrey RCMP have been notified and a Canada wide warrant will be issued.

Matsqui Institution is a medium security facility located in Abbotsford.
