ABBOTSFORD, BC, January 26, 2006 - A 52-year-old Regional Treatment Centre inmate died today (January 26) of natural causes after a lengthy illness.
David Seymour was pronounced dead at the institutional hospital.
Mr. Seymour was serving a life sentence for second-degree murder and attempted murder. His sentence commenced June 2, 1993.
Next of kin have been notified.
The Correctional Service of Canada operates the Regional Treatment Centre and the Pacific Institution which are co-located in Abbotsford. The facility includes a 20-bed medical hospital, 96-bed psychiatric hospital, 96-bed rehabilitation unit, 127-bed program unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
