FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ABBOTSFORD, BC, November 6, 2006 - A 48-year- old inmate died Saturday afternoon (November 4^th) at the Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford.

William Peterffy died of natural causes at the institution's Medical Hospital.

Mr. Peterffy was serving a life sentence for Second Degree Murder. His sentence commenced May 22, 1998.

Next of kin have been notified.

The Pacific Institution and the Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The facility includes a 19-bed Medical Hospital, 96-bed Psychiatric Hospital, 96-bed Rehabilitation Unit, 127-bed Program Unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
