FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT THE REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

ABBOTSFORD, BC, December 18, 2006 - A 44-year-old inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford died December 15.

Norman Crowe died of natural causes while at outside hospital.

Mr. Crowe was serving a 27-month sentence for theft under, trespassing at night, and two counts of break and enter with intent. His sentence commenced April 27, 2006.

Next of kin have been notified.

The Pacific Institution and the Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The facility includes a 20-bed Medical Hospital, 96-bed Psychiatric Hospital, 96-bed Rehabilitation Unit, 127-bed Program Unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
