FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ABBOTSFORD, BC, - A 62 year old inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford died January 2 of natural causes at the institution's Regional Medical Hospital.

Edward Boyd was serving an indeterminate sentence for two counts of indecent assault against a female. His sentence commenced January 27, 1983.

Next-of-kin have been notified.

The Pacific Institution and the Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford. The facility includes a 20-bed Medical Hospital, 96-bed Psychiatric Hospital, 96-bed Rehabilitation Unit, 127-bed Program Unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
