FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AGASSIZ, BC, April 24, 2007 - A Mountain Institution inmate has died of apparent natural causes.

Michael Holowachuk, 76, collapsed outside of his living unit. He was immediately transported to outside hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Next-of-kin have been notified.

Mountain Institution is a federal medium-security institution located 120 kilometers east of Vancouver. The institution currently houses 438 inmates.
