FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT THE REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

MISSION, BC, June 27, 2007 - A 60-year-old inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford died late last night, June 26.

Wayne Blunden died of natural causes while at outside hospital.

Mr. Blunden was serving a life sentence for non-capital murder which commenced July 3, 1975.

Next of kin have been notified.

The Pacific Institution and the Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The facility includes a 20-bed Medical Hospital, 96-bed Psychiatric Hospital, 96-bed Rehabilitation Unit, 127-bed Program Unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
