FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ABBOTSFORD, BC, September 4, 2007 - A 60-year-old inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford died Sunday, September 2nd.

Marvin Sharp died of natural causes at the Regional Medical Hospital located at the Regional Treatment Centre.

Mr. Sharp was serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder. His sentence commenced September 8, 1999.

The Pacific Institution and the Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The facility includes a 20-bed medical hospital, 96-bed psychiatric hospital, 96-bed rehabilitation unit, 127-bed program unit and a 96-bed regional reception and assessment centre.
